    The heavy duty motor weighs in at 16lbs. Its then built with heavy gauge spokes and a double wall rim. So the entire front wheel unit can come in closer to 25lbs, but I have yet to place it on a scale. Batteries can also be a factor but depends on the type and power you choose. Despite the weight difference of the motor, drivers are still using the cabs with or without the electric assist. Just a small difference in the feel of the steering.

    Top Speed in the specifications manual is 25 mph, but the battery can be impact even higher or lower. Sometimes top speed can be a concern, but you can set limits with the controller, which also saves battery power.

    No final pricing just yet. We want to continue our testing in harsh conditions.

    So far, we have found the biggest price variance will depend on the battery. Currently we are testing with lithium 48V, 20AH premium battery which has performed very well and has met our requirements.

    The main unit will have everything you need. It includes the front wheel with motor, controller, display and all necessary wiring.

    We will make a post soon after we complete the testing and final spec. Almost there

    very interested in these. i am curious to know how they are recharged. is it only by plugging them in or does the pedalling of the rider help to charge or perhaps the braking…where i am hoping to use them we have some hills but any charge gained back through braking down hill would be very handy

    recharging is currently done only by plug-in power, but the technology for regenerative power is hopefully not far off.

    You haven’t responded to that last post about what cities use the n if there are licensing issues. I would also like to know

      Hi Julia, i am not aware of any city in the USA that regulate e-assist motors on pedicabs used for personal use, when under 750 watts. We always advise to speak with your local city to confirm. It is continuously changing on which cities prohibit/allow e-assist on “regulated” pedicabs. You would need to speak with your local city to determine if they allow or prohibit e-assist motors.
